Baked Roast Apples Recipe
Mmm! How fragrant! Baked roast apples are simply fantastic as a Christmas dessert or for a sweet afternoon treat. And they look so lovely too! Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 250g ( 1 cup) spelt flour
- 125g ( 1/2 cup) cold butter or vegan alternative
- 25g (2 Tbsp) raw cane sugar
- Filling to taste, e.g., jam, chopped nuts and/or almonds, marzipan, raisins
Directions
- Knead the dough ingredients well and chill for 1 hour.
- Peel and core the apples.
- Fill the resulting core holes with the filling of your choice.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a round shape.
- Wrap the apples with the dough.
- Form decorative leaves with leftover dough. An apple stem can be created using an almond.
- Bake at 340 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Enjoy while still warm!
